Regular Forms: Past Simple Tense: Affirmations

Add ed  to the end of most verbs to form the past simple tense:

jump > jumped         lift > lifted          start > started         finish > finished       look > looked

If the verb already has an “e” at the end of the base, just add d  to the end:

arrive > arrived    close > closed     sneeze > sneezed     believe > believed
